Seasons have come and gone,
Still I think of you.
In the endless autumn sky,
You’re in every view.

A gentle breeze whispers low,
Like you passed this way.
Golden leaves begin to fall,
As daylight fades away.

Every leaf upon the ground,
Looks like folded wings,
Resting in the hands of earth,
Waiting there to sing.

Some goodbyes
Never disappear.
They only find
Another way to stay.

Autumn wings,
Carry me into the wind.
You’re still alive
In every beat within.

Autumn wings,
Flying into the light.
This is not the end,
Love never says goodbye.

On that rainy night,
You became a moth.
Holding to my window,
Through the storm you fought.

Rain kept shaking
Your fragile little wings,
Yet you stayed so still,
Like time forgot to breathe.

Then the falling leaves
Covered every trace.

Winter came in silence,
Snow embraced the ground.
Then one summer afternoon,
You were finally found.

Like a crystal leaf,
Shining in the sun,
Growing unseen wings,
Beginning once again.

Autumn wings,
Don’t be afraid to fly.
The wind will always know
The way across the sky.

Autumn wings,
Higher than before.
Nothing truly ends,
Love lives forevermore.

This is not goodbye.
We’ll meet again
Beyond the wind,
Beyond the light.

Author’s Note

“Wings of Autumn” was originally born from a real experience.

It was an autumn rain night. A moth landed on the window screen of my home. The wind and rain never stopped, yet it did not leave—until its final moment, it still held its wings open. A few days later, it drifted away with the wind. The following summer, I saw something similar again: among a pile of weathered fallen leaves, there were leaves reduced to only their veins, so translucent under sunlight that they seemed ready to fly. At that moment, I suddenly felt that life had not truly disappeared; it had simply taken on another form of existence.

Thus, Wings of Autumn was born. It is not only about moths and autumn, but also about life, time, farewell, and continuation. Departure is not necessarily an ending, and disappearance is not necessarily emptiness; some forms of life become wind, and some memories sink into light, continuing to accompany us in another way.

On this basis, I attempted to rewrite the same theme across different languages and literary forms. These versions are not translations of one another, but independent retellings through distinct literary traditions. In doing so, I came to feel more clearly how different languages and cultures subtly reshape the temperature of emotion and the character of expression.

Music, too, brought a deeper understanding. Music is an expression that transcends language, and song knows no borders. Even when we do not understand each other’s words, we can still be moved by the same emotions within a shared melody, and feel the same profound resonance of the soul.

I am grateful to ChatGPT for assisting in structuring and refining the expression, and to Suno for allowing these words to extend beyond the page into sound, where they can be reinterpreted.
