站在聖保羅山的石碑旁，
看堅船利炮化作鏽跡，擋不住歲月蒼茫。
紅屋的暗影里，殘垣斷壁訴說滄桑；
而街巷深處，依舊五彩繽紛，鮮活如常。
那是先祖與後人，一磚一瓦扎根的土地，
讓南洋的咸澀，化作人間煙火的醇香。
娘惹的手指如春蠶，在絲緞上翻飛，
繡出不凡的聰慧，也繡出堅韌的守望。
即便遠隔重洋，漢字的魂依然挺立；
鄭和的寶船，在大海的呼吸里回響。
廊檐下鄉音朗朗，那是唐人的風骨；
謙謙君子的溫良，伴著童叟無欺的街坊。
曾記否，巷口曾閃過宣教士堅定的身影？
他們在這裡預備，目光投向遙遠的彼岸。
神州在望——那裡是福音的禾場，
也是上帝差遣他們前往的地方。
Malacca: Resilience and Fragrance in the Sea Breeze(English)

Beside the stone memorial on St. Paul’s Hill,
I watch mighty ships and cannons fade to rust,
powerless against the vast passage of time.
In the shadows of the Red Square,
broken walls recount the years of upheaval,
while deep within the streets,
colors still flourish, vivid with life.
Here, ancestors and descendants
laid down their roots, brick by brick,
turning the salt of the southern seas
into the rich aromas of everyday life.
Nyonya fingers, graceful as silkworms,
move swiftly across silk and satin,
embroidering uncommon wisdom
and a steadfast spirit of endurance.
Though oceans lie between them and their homeland,
the soul of Chinese writing still stands tall.
Zheng He’s treasure ships echo
in the breathing of the sea.
Beneath the covered walkways, familiar dialects resound—
the dignity of the people of Tang,
the gentle grace of honorable hearts,
and neighbors whose word can still be trusted.
Do you remember the steadfast missionaries
whose figures once passed through these narrow streets?
Here they prepared themselves,
their eyes fixed upon a distant shore.
China lay ahead—
a waiting field for the Gospel,
and the land to which
God had called them.
