《長安遠望》寫於我遊覽臺北陽明山時。
那天，我並沒有走進于右任先生的墓園，只是在路旁偶然看見一塊寫著「于右任墓」的方向指示牌。就是這短短幾個字，讓我停下了腳步，也久久無法平靜。
我想起了這位老人晚年的鄉愁，想起了他那句令人動容的「故鄉不可見」，也想起無數因歷史而與故土分離的人。他們所思念的，也許不只是故鄉的一座城、一條街，而是一段再也回不去的歲月，一份始終放不下的牽掛。
於是，我寫下了《長安遠望》。
這首歌並不是追憶一段歷史，也不是訴說政治，而是希望用音樂留住一份跨越時空的人性共鳴。因為鄉愁，從來不只屬於某一個人、某一個地方，而是所有遠行者共同的心事。
願每一位聽見這首歌的人，都能想起自己心中那個最深的故鄉。或許，它是一座城市，一條小路，一個熟悉的名字；也或許，只是一個讓你久久不能忘懷的方向。

Author’s Note
Looking Toward Chang’an was inspired during my visit to Yangmingshan in Taipei.
That day, I did not walk to the tomb of Mr. Yu Youren. Instead, I simply came across a roadside sign pointing toward his gravesite. Those few words were enough to stop me in my tracks.
I found myself thinking of the elderly statesman and calligrapher whose heart never stopped longing for his homeland. His famous lament—“My homeland can no longer be seen”—has echoed across generations, giving voice to the sorrow of countless people separated from the places they call home.
In that quiet moment, Looking Toward Chang’an was born.
This song is not about politics. It is about longing—for home, for memory, for the people and places that continue to live within us, even when time and distance keep us apart.
Homesickness is a universal language. Whether we have crossed oceans, borders, or simply the years of our own lives, there is often a place we still carry in our hearts.
I hope this song reminds every listener of that place—perhaps a city, a familiar street, a beloved face, or simply a name that quietly touches the soul.
