Lyrics(English)

Reflection Before the Terracotta Warriors

(Verse 1) In the dim, subterranean dark, two millennia of time lie buried, In silent formation, guarding an emperor long since decayed. Soldiers never returned, while night swallowed the lights of a thousand homes, An imperial dream, destined to fade into the desolate, yellow dust.

(Chorus) O, army cast in terracotta, You are no myth, but a wall built upon the weight of the masses. Civilization has turned, no longer standing in armored ranks, Living now only to preserve the peace of this passing age.

(Verse 2) The soil of later eras sings a different tune, With swirling sleeves and zithers, human life finds its rhythm. Cold majesty has thawed into the warmth of bustling streets, In the ordinary lanes, we find the true direction of peace.

(Chorus) O, army cast in terracotta, You are no myth, but a wall built upon the weight of the masses. Civilization has turned, no longer standing in armored ranks, Living now only to preserve the peace of this passing age.

(Outro) What the world yearns for is not the soldiers beneath the earth, But the rising smoke of cooking fires at dawn and in the setting sun. It is the tranquility of an age where wars have ceased, A single window, a single lamp, And a spine that never needs to bow.

Author’s Note(English)

Standing before the Terracotta Warriors, it is easy to marvel at the extraordinary craftsmanship of ancient artisans and the grandeur of a once-powerful empire. Yet as I gazed at these silent clay figures, my thoughts turned instead to another group of people—the ordinary men and women who left their homes for war, and the countless lives that quietly bore the weight of their times.

Reflections Before the Terracotta Warriors is not a judgment of history, but a tribute to the value of peace. The greatest achievement of any civilization is not its magnificent palaces or mighty armies, but the simple blessings of everyday life: smoke rising from family kitchens, children growing up in safety, and people able to live with dignity, standing upright without fear.

I dedicate this song to everyone who cherishes peace, values life, and strives to protect the homes and communities we share.

Thank you to everyone who listens to this song. May we remember history not to prolong hatred, but to treasure the hard-earned peace we enjoy today.
